Safety
DWG hold the safety of their workers and sub contractors at the highest priority.
We have had safety audits performed by:
- WPC
- Rio Tinto
- ABB
- IHI
- Lycopodium
- Lion Ore
We were audited by Rio Tinto at our Kalgoorlie office and also on site at Paraburdoo as part of the requirement to be qualified to perform work directly for Hamersley Iron. The result of these audits is we are now pre-qualified to perform works on there sites directly for Hamersley Iron.
All of these audits have impressed our clients and infact we have received a safety award from Rio Tinto/HI for 40,000 + with 0 LTI. We have in place a safety management plan which is utilised on all our projects. We have had no LTI’s since Conbrio Construction Purchased DWG Contracting 4 years ago. This is testament to the attitude management supervisors and employees have for safety.
We hold in house random site safety checks on all our projects and these include any subcontractor working for us. Breath testing is compulsory on all sites and is conducted every morning before the start of shift with mandatory drug testing conducted every 3 months.
DWG conduct general and site inductions on all employees and enforce safety through morning prestart, weekly toolbox meetings, daily vehicle prestarts etc.
All sites have an emergency procedure and certified first aid officers with well equipped first aid boxes.
